Assign Delivery Order driver & dispatch driver


Delivery Orders displays all orders for delivery on a self served driver devise.


1. Drivers are supposed to take the latest order and assign it to themselves. 

They can take multiple orders (optional). Tap on orders and see on the map where the places are to combine multiple Orders to a route. 


2. Driver finds the address on the receipt or taps on himself in Delivery Orders view to see where to go to. Also can find here the promised delivery time.


3. Check if order is complete by comparing the prepared items with the order information either displayed on the KDS, the drivers device or the receipt that comes with the prepared items.


4. Driver adds Items from the cooler to complete the order.


4. When the order is complete, driver dispatches himself. Order disappears from Delivery Orders overview. 





6. Driver goes out with a receipt to get a signature from the customers. The receipt has 2 lines, one for gratuity and another for signature.


7. Driver comes back and checks back in. 


8. Get feedback from the Trip Summary showing you the Est. Trip Time, Actual Time and Variance.






Start your Shift

Starting a shift as a driver works in 2 steps.

1. Clock In to touchpoint as driver. 

Go to POS Menu > Clock In/Out > Select Role = Driver 


2. Get your starting cash

You've clocked in to the system. Go and get your change from a cash register now. Go to POS Menu > Delivery Orders > tap on your name > Shift Actions > Starting Cash Change, tap 0.00 (blue) > Enter Amount To Give As Bank & Select Drawer to pull money from


 


Your starting cash is added to the system (check in "Shift Actions"). All other positions show $0.00 because you are just starting your shift.

 


Touchpoint tracks the starting cash which is important when you end your shift and you have to return and deposit the starting cash in a cash drawer. 

POS > Settings > Active Cash Drawer:





End your Shift

Driver is done for the day. 


He needs to close the shift by returning the bank (starting cash) and the collected cash for the orders to any active register.

Closing a shift also clocks out the driver automatically and prints out a report which needs to be signed by the driver.


Note:

Starting cash can be taken from and returned to any register, it doesn't haven't to be the same. Driver takes and delivers orders from any register. The system tracks and updates the accounting for any register.



Cashout summary shows the Total that needs to placed to a drawer by the driver.  


Total to place to a drawer =

+ "Delivery Cash Total" for orders 

- "Delivery Reimbursement" owed to driver

- "Delivery CC Tips" owed to driver and deducted from collected cash

+ "Starting Cash" taken from a register when starting the shift


Driver taps "Amount to be Placed in Drawer" and enters the amount that they will place in the drawer.



Cashout Note shows how much the driver needs to return to which register/drawer.


Driver signs the report. Done, the shift is closed!
